About Heart Dog Club
Heart Dog Club is a community of dog parents who have been through it — the shock of a DCM diagnosis, the scramble to find a cardiologist, the late-night searches about medications and supplements, the heartbreak, and sometimes the small victories.
If you've ever tried to find reliable information about DCM in a Facebook group with thousands of posts, you know the frustration. The knowledge is out there, scattered across support groups, veterinary journals, and word-of-mouth advice — but finding it when you need it most, right after a diagnosis, is nearly impossible.
We built Heart Dog Club to organize that knowledge into clear, accessible guides. We cover screening protocols, medications, diet, supplements, costs, and the emotional reality of caring for a cardiac dog — so the next person who hears "your dog has DCM" has somewhere to turn.
What we are not
We are not veterinarians. We are not a substitute for professional veterinary care. Every dog is different, and your veterinarian or board-certified veterinary cardiologist (DACVIM-Cardiology) is the right person to make medical decisions for your dog.
What we can do is help you understand the landscape — the terminology, the treatment options, the questions to ask — so you can be a more informed advocate for your dog.
Our commitment
- Every medical claim is based on published veterinary research or established clinical guidelines
- We clearly distinguish between proven treatments and community anecdotal experience
- We never recommend specific products without transparency about any affiliate relationships
- We update our content as new research becomes available
